cut, color, carat, clarity.

"Grow old with me! The best is yet to be" -- Robert Browning

One of the first things that comes along with being engaged is the engagement ring. Since diamonds are forever, what better way to start a life together than with a gift that symbolizes eternity? And since it's going to be around for a while, it's a good thing that I can happily say, I looove my ring (and the boy who gave it to me). I thought I'd share a little bit about what I've learned about engagement rings since I received mine on February 7th.

I tried to find a picture of my ring, but I was having a little trouble, which in a way I guess is a good thing. The closest images I could find are the two shown here. Instead of searching the internet for a replica of my ring, here are the most important details (I hope this will suffice)... The ring has a round cut center stone with a platinum band. The band of the ring has a pave (pronounced pah-vay) setting. Pave comes from the word pavement, meaning the band of the ring is "paved" with diamonds which are encrusted along the ring's surface. The center stone is also surounded by a band of tiny diamonds and held in place by four prongs.

For anyone considering buying or receiving an engagement ring, I recommend this site. It's a pretty informative starting point.

All in all -- It's so sparkly. And I'm so happy. :)

And a verse to close:
"You have made known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand."

-- Psalm 16:11
